Sunday, Jan. 22 marked the 56th anniversary of my parents. Yep, I’d like to say that I rank in the minority of individuals who have the priviledge of such experience. We marked the occassion Saturday with a church blessing and dinner get together. I am honored to be their daughter. I really am. Not only have they been married this long but they are by far — the best parents ever. It is because of their love and dedication that I truly believe in the unity of marriage. My ways may be old-fashioned or too conservative for some but I at least can say that I have witnessed the benefits of a good marriage. I am beyond blessed. Yes, indeed.
If you read my previous blog entry, then you know why I’m prepared to head into the kitchen for these Sutter

Christmas continues for me…yipee!!!
Thanks to my good friend the Sutter Home Man…aka Keith McFadden….life is pretty good these days! Look what I recently got from the UPS Man:)
A recipe book, a Sangria pitcher, three boxes of sutter home holiday lights, a bottle topper and a dozen corkscrews for my friends. I’ll be using everything but my Bubbly Moscato bottle topper because if you know me, then you know I don’t like left overs.
This Blog post comes from the comfort of my home…Yep…I’m on vacation:) I’ve spent the last few days having probably the best hours of 2011. Take last night for example..the hubs and I enjoyed a Zombie board game and a couple of glasses of Moscato…:) Life couldn’t be more at ease! Nonetheless I’m ready for both the challenges and gifts that 2012 has to offer. Granted 2011 started off a bit rocky…but by August the lightbulbs in our hearts and minds became brighter and focused as to what really is important. I hope that each of you also welcome 2012 with open arms. May it also bring peace to your lives and plenty of laughter. As my husband, friends and softball team likes to say it’s all about “The Goodtimes!” GT!!! Till next time…
Christmas for me officially arrives at 7 a.m. Friday outside the studios at KWED Radio. That’s right, it’s time for our annual Holiday Food and Toy Drive. Let’s just say it’s the best way to get anyone into the holiday spirit.
Come out and donate to the Christian Cupboard and to the Seguin Police Department Blue Santa Program. The Seguin Matador Band and Navarro Jazz Band will perform that morning. Seguin’s VIP’s, community groups and school representatives will all join us media folks in the streets. Thanks to our sponsors Jackie’s Tacos to Go, Wal-Mart, HEB, Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce, Chiro Javo and Seguin Chevrolet for their annual support.
A special thank you to Janie at Jackie’s Tacos to Go. Janie each year donates hundreds of breakfast tacos for the drive. The tacos help feed the 100 band students who roll out the bed extra early and perform at our drive.
So please pick up an extra toy or non-perishable food item the next time you head to the store and drop it off Friday morning. I know it will be cold…but all you have to do is simply roll up and we’ll do any unloading for you.
Happy Holidays…see ya Friday!!!
Well folks another Yowza Holiday Toy Bash Men’s Slowpitch Softball Tournament has come and gone. This is a personal charity effort that my husband and I started six years ago to benefit the Seguin Police Department Blue Santa Program. Sorry about just now posting…but I wuz having a little technical difficulty with my Blog site…Anyhow…
We appreciate all the law enforcement teams who came out to battle it out on the field. Congrats to the Seguin PD for taking back the trophy from the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office — both teams were great in the Batte of the Badge exhibition game! Also congrats to Guadalupe County Volunteer Firefighters for again winning the Don’t Get Hosed exhibition game against the Seguin Fire/EMS Department.
I want to especially thank all the teams that came to Seguin to participate in the event. Each year the event grows larger and larger attracting teams from throughout Central Texas.
This event would of course not have been possible if it weren’t for all the sponsors. I am lucky to have great friends and business friends who support my efforts every year. Together we have been able to purchase hundreds of toys for kids here in Seguin.
Please run through this list and patronize these great folks who really are the backbone to the event. Find them on FB or just go in and give them your business: Bling, Paramount Printing and Embroidery, Palmer Mortuary, Apache Disposal, Tri-County AC and Heating, Janet Ignasiak Massage Therapist, Budweiser (Jeff Contreras), J & A Auto Collision, Gift & Gourmet, Walmart and Seguin Laser and Engraving and Rico Gloves.
I especially want to thank Bling and Paramount for being my top sponsors. You guys rock!!!
This year’s tourney also benefited the newly formed Seguin ISD Destination Imagination (DI) Booster Club. The group operated this year’s concession stand bringing in dollars for this year’s contest. Thanks to Daryl Wilson at Texas Choice BBQ for lending the group a hand.
Here’s a few pics of the tourney including our top teams: Enjoy and Happy Holidays!
