Forgive me Father for I have….

Filed under: Uncategorized — kwedcindy @ 12:54 pm

Not updated my Blog. We’ll folks I know it’s been a long time but I assure you I have semi-returned. If you’ve been reading Jessica’s Blog..you know that she’s been sicko for the last couple of weeks…so I’ve taken on a bit more work around her. So I apologize to those who have clearly reminded me that I have not yet updated my Blog.

First off I want to congratulate Darren Dunn. If you have not heard he is now our new station General Manager. I’m very excited about his promotion. He is well deserving of the job and he is already off to a great start. I expect great things from him…because simply he’s a great man. If you haven’t done any business with us whether on the community side or business side then I’d encourage you to stop by or give us a call. You will want to be a part of a new chapter here at KWED.

I’d also like to say Go MATADORS! Way to bring home a win this weekend against Uvalde. Don’t forget guys we carry those games right here on KWED, at seguintoday.com and you can also listen like I do on Radiolicious on my EYE Phone:) Win or lose we have to support our Mats so I am requesting you send me your Mat Fan pics. I’ll get those posted as they come in…And Yes I am a Navarro Panther and Marion Bulldog Fan so send those in too….You can email them directly to me at cindy@kwed1580.com

PS I’m waiting for you on Twitter…Tweet me @cindykwed….have a great day!

What do I do?

Filed under: Uncategorized — kwedcindy @ 10:21 pm

You can’t help but think that Edward Scissorhands made his debut in Seguin with this not so groomed yet cool looking stop sign. Is that a comb over? :) I couldn’t help but take the photo as we pulled away from the Whataburger restaurant on State Hwy. 123. Good thing I wasn’t the one driving because I wouldn’t know what to do. I’d tell the officer that although I read ‘Red’ I saw ‘Green.’

What am I thinking? Here it is….

Filed under: Uncategorized — kwedcindy @ 7:11 pm

If you haven’t already heard..New Braunfels is getting a Buc-ee’s. That’s right another giant store near Target. Of course a second HEB opens this Friday in NB. In the mean time our news team lays out all the facts and puts rumors to rest about Seguin and a future HEB. Be sure to listen to KWED or check out Friday’s edition of the Seguin Daily News. News reporter Jessica Domel recently spoke to an HEB spokesperson about potential plans…but uh!..Personally I don’t think it looks good. Can we petition Seguin? If we can get them to bring the world Seguin Pecan Ice Cream then we can get a bigger store.

Also, I want to encourage everyone in Seguin to spend part of their Sunday afternoon at the two school dedications and open houses…one for the new Rodriguez Elementary School and the other at the reconfigured Ball Early Childhood Center. Respective times are 2 p.m and 3:30 p.m. Come out and see what I think are state of the art facilities especially for our pre-k kids. If you have children going to either school..it would be a great way for them to get rid of any first day jitters.

Also I think that it’s time that we get on the bandwagon for a new or renovated Seguin High School. I know the Seguin ISD has just started talking about it (potentially for a future bond issue) but as a 1992 SHS grad…I think it is time for change…a time to just put that ump!!! behind an already renovated hospital, new Cat plant and a new Guadalupe County Justice Center. While the school is very well maintained…sometimes I feel like telling people ‘Do you not see what I see???’ It is 2010 right? I know there’s pride and tradition in the current facility but Matador pride and tradition I believe is among its students and community and will be stronger than ever in any new or renovated facility. Go Mats!

Last but not least…our best friends are headed to Seguin for a couple of days. They arrive today from Corpus and so that means we’re having a slumber party…you’re never too old for a slumber party. Seriously…we all act like a bunch of kids…goodtimes:)))

I especially love my working family..yep even Jessica:) (luv ya). Anyhow I thought I’d pass this on. The idea to blog about it just hit me as I was typing yet another story for you folks. To the coast we go…

Filed under: Uncategorized — kwedcindy @ 10:24 pm

Can’t wait for a trip this weekend to Port Aransas…actually it’s a special trip in the fact that I’m headed to a wedding on the beach and then a celebration at a nearby yacht club. What could be more special for such a great person. Hmmm? If I had to do it again…how would I do it? How would you do it? Anyhow it looks as though my weekends are pretty booked for the next few weeks…four weekends a month is just not enough time.

Go Seguin!

Filed under: Uncategorized — kwedcindy @ 10:55 pm

Yep! That’s my brother-in-law Leo Herrera (front row second from left). His Little League All-Star playoff efforts continue this weekend. The 9 and 10 year old BASEBALL team begins its sectional tournament in Rosenberg tonight against Victoria–Northeast…Seguin WON the District 31 championship Wednesday night with a 6 to 2 victory over Hallettsville in Yoakum. Good luck guys!

Don’t let the frozen fool your taste buds

While I admit I don’t like Chinese food too much, I did enjoy this HEB frozen lemon chicken entree. Up to this point, the only Chinese food I eat is at HEB and yes I only eat the lemon chicken and fried rice from its deli. Yeah and I love the egg rolls from Jack in the Box. Anyway since eating Chinese food is like Christmas around my house for my husband — I figured I compromise and planned on some takeout Wednesday night…you know just before softball. But as usual, we got there a bit late and most of the food was already gone. It wasn’t until I spotted this bag that hope was restored….STORY SHORT and after taking home a couple pints of rice…our hunger was greatly appreciative….it’s great stuff! Let me know what you think. Kudos to HEB!

P.S. My hubby was so excited that he prepared the whole thing by himself. Let me just say…we’ll probably be having a whole lot of chinese from here on out.

Congrats to Danny and Sarah Donhauser owners of ZDT’s Amusement Park for adding the Mad Raft to its growing list of attractions. I got a special invite to the grand opening of the uphill water coaster on Tuesday. Wow! what a ride. Let me just say ZDT..you are doing great things for Seguin. Go on..get your towels!
